RHAM Youth Baseball

When does registration open?

Registration opens on January 1st for the Spring 2025 season.

When does the season start?

Teams are formed in late March and families are notified shortly thereafter. Practices begin in late March/early April or when field conditions are conducive to playing baseball. Opening Day for the 2025 Spring season is generally late April but will be communicated when this date is confirmed.

When does the season end?

The Spring season typically ends around the first or second week of June.

What equipment does my child need?

This will vary by division but typically a glove, cleats, athletic protective cup, baseball pants, baseball belt and water bottle are necessary.  Players may want to bring their own bat and helmet but a culture of sharing has been created within the league so plenty of bats will be available for us.  Depending on the division/size of the player, the league does have catcher's gear on hand to be shared.  The league will provide each player their own jersey and baseball hat.  For more information or guidance on equipment purchasing, please see the links below:

Where are games played?

Practices and games are played in different locations throughout Hebron and Marlborough depending on the division.

Veterans Parks - Wall Street, Hebron, CT
Gilead Hill School - Gilead Street, Hebron, CT
Park Road Field - Park Road, Marlborough, CT
Burnt Hill Park - 148 East Street, Hebron, CT
Marlborough Elementary School, School Street, Marlborough, CT

How are the teams chosen?

When choosing the Tee Ball and Rookie divisions, the teams are randomly drawn with some preference given toward creating an equal number of younger and older players on each team.  We also try to accommodate as many requests as possible.

In the Minors and Majors divisions, the players are drafted to the teams in such a manner so as to equalize the level of talent.  A player evaluation will be held in mid-March for players, ages 9-10 and 11–12.  At the evaluation, players will participate in specific drills designed to assess each players skill level.  These evaluations are made anonymously and only shared with coaches when drafting teams.

Friend requests are NOT honored in the Minors and Major divisions.

Are there post-season opportunities?

RHAM Youth Baseball has numerous post-season playing opportunities for your children. During the second half of the Spring season, tryouts are held for the Little League World Series Tournament (District) teams and our summer travel teams. Typically, our league fields teams in the 8U, 10U,  & 12U divisions. The 8U team plays in the Bethwood Friendship Tournament and the 10U and 12U teams play in the District 1 Little League Tournament  which begins shortly after the recreational season ends.  There is also opportunities to participate in the Farmington Summer Tournament for those players who did not make the 10U Little League Team.

For more information on postseason opportunities please contact FIRST NAME LAST NAME via email at [email protected]
Please look for information pertaining to the Summer District and Travel season around the beginning of May.
